We have now been on Tinian a week, and time is just flying by already. I have had my ups and downs, including moments when I’ve thought about going home to Italia, but it is going well here. I have my classroom set up and ready to go for my 3rd and 4th graders. Tomorrow I will meet the parents and school starts on Monday. I can’t wait to meet my students and to get school started.
In our short time here we:
Swam in the Dynasty Hotel pool twice. Gabriel loves going down the water slide!
We swam in the Philippine Sea and enjoyed the sunset.
We toured historic sights; including where the atomic bombs that bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki were loaded onto the planes.
We’ve eaten pizza, which was good but not Italian!
Random observation: I haven’t seen a tomato yet… Which for me is a problem! I don’t know if I can go without tomatoes.
Fun fact: In our first four days here we killed about 15 roaches!
